Business Continuity Management


ENEC Group is committed to maintaining the resilience and continuity of its critical activities in compliance with UAE regulatory requirements and recognized international best practices. ENEC’s Business Continuity Management System (BCMS) is aligned with the National Standard for Business Continuity Management System (AE/SCNS/NCEMA 7000) and the international standard ISO 22301 – Business Continuity Management Systems.

Suppliers are an integral part of ENEC’s operating ecosystem and are expected to maintain appropriate Business Continuity arrangements that are proportionate to the criticality of the services they provide and consistent with ENEC requirements.

This section outlines ENEC’s Business Continuity expectations, requirements, and guidance for suppliers engaging with ENEC.

 

Suppliers engaging with ENEC are expected to:

 

  • Identify and manage risks that could disrupt services supporting ENEC’s critical operations.
  • Define and implement recovery strategies, including appropriate recovery time and resource arrangements.
  • Maintain backup arrangements for critical resources, systems, personnel, and key third party dependencies.
  • Conduct periodic testing or exercises to validate the effectiveness of Business Continuity arrangements.
  • Promptly notify ENEC of any incident or disruption that may impact the delivery of contracted services.
  • Cooperate with ENEC during assurance, review, or assessment activities related to Business Continuity, when requested.
  • Regularly review and update Business Continuity arrangements to reflect changes in operations, risks, or contractual scope.

 

POLICY STATEMENT

1.1 Executive Management of Emirates Nuclear Energy Company and its subsidiaries, ENEC Operations and ENEC Commercial are committed to ensuring the continuity of operation of its critical business functions through the implementation of policies, processes, procedures, and plans in order to identify the risk of business disruption and to mitigate that risk.

1.2 This commitment is met through the provision of Business Continuity Services by ENEC Operations to ENEC and its subsidiaries in accordance with the Omnibus Written Instruction (dated May 27, 2020) to the Plant Services Agreement (dated October 20, 2016).

1.3 The provision of Business Continuity Services by ENEC Operations involves development, maintenance, and implementation of each entity’s capability to continue delivery of the products and services required to meet its business continuity objectives during a disruption.

1.4 The ENEC Operations CEO is the owner of this Policy, which will be reviewed and assessed annually.

1.5 The ENEC Operations CEO shall ensure compliance with this Policy through management oversight by elements within ENEC’s Legal and Management Systems organizations.

2.0 PURPOSE AND SCOPE

2.1 Purpose

2.1.1 The purpose of this policy is to ensure that ENEC and its subsidiaries maintain performance, meet government and stakeholder expectations, and provide continuity of prioritized activities following business disruptions resulting from incidents, emergencies, crisis and disasters.

2.1.2 The policy also ensures compliance with AE/SCNS/NCEMA 7000:2021, Business Continuity Management System (Specifications).

2.2 Scope

2.2.1 This policy applies to all aspects of ENEC and its subsidiaries (the people, processes, operations, facilities, suppliers, technology, information, legal, regulatory requirements and reputation).

2.2.2 This policy operates in conjunction with Emergency Preparedness for Barakah Nuclear Energy Plant events.

3.0 APPLICABILITY

3.1 This policy applies to ENEC and its subsidiaries’ business activities, employees, contractors, and suppliers, where applicable.
